The Guangdong and Macao Branded Products Fair 2010 was unveiled here on Thursday, with a total of 209 participating enterprises from the two places.

Co-organized by the IPIM and the Department of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation (DFTEC) of Guangdong Province, the four- day fair is enriched with exhibition and products demonstrations, forum on services industry and services trade, business matching, products and services presentations, purchasing and business negotiations and cultural performances.

A total of 249 exhibition booths will be established at the fair, covering an area of 6,000 square meters, where famous brands and products from China's Guangdong province and Macao, namely, foodstuffs, tea leaves, small household appliances, daily necessities, etc. will be displayed.

Guangdong and Macao have joined hands for the third time this year in organizing major trade fairs, and the IPIM hope that it can continue to maintain close relations with various trade and economic departments of Guangdong to promote communication and cooperation between the two places' enterprises, said Jackson Chang, president of IPIM.

According to the figures from the Guangdong provincial government, the total import and export volume between Macao and Guangdong amounted to 1.61 billion U.S. dollars. Macao has conducted 8,053 direct investment projects in Guangdong while Guangdong has established 148 enterprises or representative offices in Macao by the end of last year.

The fair is another important platform jointly built by the two places aiming to expand new markets, stimulate consumption and better promote economic development in both regions, said Liang Yaowen, director-general of DFTEC, at the fair.
