China shares close higher Thursday

Shares in the Chinese mainland closed higher Thursday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up by 32.89 points or 1.25 percent to close at 2,655.78.

The Shenzhen Component Index increased by 146.41 points or 1.29 percent to close at 11,465.15.
